Gokyo Lake Trek

Gokyo Lake Trek is adventurous trek in to the fabulous Gokyo valley. This trekking offers the amazing view of the lofty mountains like Everest, Lhotse , Makalu , Cho-oyu  and many other peaks.  This trekking offers the high altitude trekking experience as you cross the high passes like Renjola , Chola pass etc. The sacred lake of Gokyo and the view of the Gokyo Ri allures every trekker who venture in this trek. The beautiful view of the wonderful ice ridge of Cho Oyu and Gyachung is the most prominent feature of this region. Besides this, you can explore the culture and tradition of the legendry Sherpa people. As Khumbu region is famous for their hospitality and Mountaineering people.

Gokyo lake trek begins with the scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the starting junction of the Everest region trekking. Then you trek through the sprawling villages interacting among the mountain people also known as Sherpa’s. You traverse through the lush valleys, forest of rhododendron and oak, Sagarmatha National park with the views of the snow capped mountains. Through out the trek you get chance to explore  buddhist monuments like Chortens, Mani wall and Monastery. The colorful  ancient monasteries and the prayer flags will definitely make your trekking trip memorable. Varieties of flora and fauna can be encountered as well ad wild animals like Himalayan Tahr, goral, Serow, musk deer, snow leopard  during the trek.  The best seasons to go for Gokyo Lake trek are spring and autumn season.

Day 1: Fly to  Lukla, trek to Phakding (2656m.)

Day 2: Phakding to Namche (3420m.)

Day 3: Acclimatization day in Namche

Day 4: Namche Bazar to Dole.

Day 5: Dole to Machermo (4410m.)

Day 6: Rest Day In Machermo

Day 7: Machermo to Gokyo (4750m.)

Day 8: Rest Day – Ascent Of Gokyo Ri (5483m.)

Day 9: Trek  to Phortse (4690m.)

Day 10: Phortse to Namche Bazar

Day 11: Namche to Lukla [2800m.]

Day 12: Fly back  to Kathmandu

  1. What if I have never been trekking before?

Prior to your Trek or Expedition, it is necessary to be in good physical shape. So in order to maintain your body in a good condition for the trek a regular exercise is needed so walk 2 to 3 hours daily. This much effort from your side is enough, rest we do from our side to make our trip more successful.

While booking your holiday you inform us about your health condition, then we customize walking hour in the trek according to your wish.


  1. How about Mountain Sickness during the trek?

We have tried our best in itinerary for the pacing and progression to altitude adjustment during high altitude treks. Our guides are experienced, trained and familiar with Altitude Sickness. Throughout the trek our guide will closely monitor the clients individually and as soon as the effects of altitude sickness is seen on you our guide will help you quickly to get down to lower altitude.


  1. What if I need medical assistance at some point during the trip?

In the mountain we are not sure what will happen but we try our best good things to happen. In case of emergency, our staffs are well trained, experienced and know how to facilitate medical treatment and emergency transport.


  1. If I cancel my trip can I get a refund?

No refund will be there after you participate in the trek but while cancellation 2 week priors to depart for the trek 25% will be charged and rest will be refunded.
