Jomsom Muktinath Trek

Jomsom Muktinath Trek is the classic trek into the Trans Himalayan region of Annapurna region. This trek is not only famous for the trekking; it is also famous form the religious point of view as it is most popular for both Hindu & Buddhist pilgrims. Muktinath is the famous sacred place of Hindu and Buddhist people where thousands of pilgrims visit every year. In this trek you explore the temple of Muktinath, pagoda shape temple of Lord Vishnu.  Jomsom Muktinath trek offers the magnificent views of mountains above 8000m including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m.) Simlarly other mountains like Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal, Dhaulagiri and many more are also seen through out the trek . During this  trek you enjoy the gorgeous Himalayan landscapes, famous apple garden of Marpha and Tukuche etc.


The classic Jomsom Muktinath trek begins with the 30 minutes scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, the trading center of the lower mustang. After that you head to Kagbeni located on the bank of Kali Gandaki River. Kagbeni is famous for Saligram, a stone on which the image of Lord Vishnu is inscribed. In this trek you pass through the deepest gorge of the world, Kali Gandaki gorge between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. En route you also explore the culture and lifestyle of the Himalayan people including Thakali as well as other ethnic people like Gurung Magar etc. Finally the best time to go for this trek is spring and autumn season.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 2: Kathmandu sightseeing

Day 3: Kathmandu to Pokhara

Day 4: Flight to Jomsom and trek to Kagbeni

Day 5: Kagbeni to Muktinath

Day 6: Muktinath to Tukuche (2600m.)

Day 7: Trek to Ghasa (2100m.)

Day 8: Ghasa to Tatopani (1200m.)

Day 9: Tatopani to Ghorepani

Day 10: Hiking to Poon Hill and trek to Tikhedhunga

Day 11: Tikhedhunga to Nayapul and then drive to Pokhara

Day 12: Pokhara to Kathmandu

Day 13: Departure

  1. What if I have never been trekking before?

Prior to your Trek or Expedition, it is necessary to be in good physical shape. So in order to maintain your body in a good condition for the trek a regular exercise is needed so walk 2 to 3 hours daily. This much effort from your side is enough, rest we do from our side to make our trip more successful.

While booking your holiday you inform us about your health condition, then we customize walking hour in the trek according to your wish.


  1. How about Mountain Sickness during the trek?

We have tried our best in itinerary for the pacing and progression to altitude adjustment during high altitude treks. Our guides are experienced, trained and familiar with Altitude Sickness. Throughout the trek our guide will closely monitor the clients individually and as soon as the effects of altitude sickness is seen on you our guide will help you quickly to get down to lower altitude.


  1. What if I need medical assistance at some point during the trip?

In the mountain we are not sure what will happen but we try our best good things to happen. In case of emergency, our staffs are well trained, experienced and know how to facilitate medical treatment and emergency transport.


  1. If I cancel my trip can I get a refund?

No refund will be there after you participate in the trek but while cancellation 2 week priors to depart for the trek 25% will be charged and rest will be refunded.
