Mera Peak Trek via Phaplu is a wonderful trekking destination in Makalu Barun National Park lies in the north eastern Himalayan region of Nepal adjacent to Sagarmatha National Park , Only protected area on earth with an altitude gain of 8000m from the low tropical forests along the Arun valley to the lofty , icy mountain summits .
Mera Peak Trek via Phaplu is the long trail to climb the Mera Peak (6470m )one of the 6000 highest peak of the world. Generally trekkers fly directly to Lukla and cross the Zatrwa La Pass (4610 m) and head towards Mera Peak, which is the shortest trail. But Mera Peak Trek via Phaplu gives the trekkers enough time to acclimatize their body properly which is very necessary for the climbers. The trek start from Phaplu and follow the Classic Everest Trek trail until we reach the Kharikhola. After KhariKhola we head towards the north-east direction to Makalu Barun Area and then after walking four days in Makalu Barun Area we’ll reach at Kote, the normal trail to Mera Peak. We will have both experience staying in local lodges/guesthouses before moving to camping high in mountain .
